Q. Why is IBM creating One to One?
A. Even a large company like IBM has limited sales resources. There are so many potential customers in varying industries that programs utilizing the world wide web and other online trading platforms allow us to try to form customer relationships with those we have not typically been able to reach.

Q. What is the difference between this and an online auction?
A. An online auction is a competitive public event, with the results visible to all participants. In the parallel negotiation venue, all transactions are confidentially negotiated, one on one, directly with an IBM representative. Once you and your IBM representative have agreed on both the price and quantity, the settlement and fulfillment process begins.

Q. Could this be considered a new channel for IBM?
A. Yes, this is a new, additional channel for IBM.

Q. Can others see my activities? Are my transactions kept confidential?
A. All of your activities will be done in private. All transactions are subject to IBM customer confidentiality policies.

Q. Will I have the opportunity to purchase current products or is this end of life (EOL) or liquidated merchandise?
A. You will have the opportunity to purchase current IBM Technology Group products which include 1.0"IDE, 2.5"IDE, 3.5"IDE & 3.5" SCSI hard disk drives, RAID controllers and Microelectronics.

Q. Need I buy large quantities all at once?
A. No you do not. However, based on product packaging minimum order sizes may apply. For example, HDDs are usually packaged 20 drives to a sealed carton. Therefore, the minimum order would be one sealed carton or 20 drives.

Q. Will my order quantity determine my price?
A. As with any negotiation, quantity can influence price. Our base prices will be the same as we would offer any other customer.

Q. How will this program benefit my business?
A. Unlike the spot market, IBM offers you stable and predictable supply of products. This consistency of supply and product will allow you to better manage your business. You will spend less time finding products, and more time growing your business.

Q. I am a small business and am not able to order large quantities, would I still qualify?
A. Of course! You may be a small business now. We are betting that you will become a bigger business, and hopefully remain an IBM customer. There was a time that IBM was also a small business.
