Troubleshooting IDE drive problems


Are the jumpers and cables connected correctly?
  1. Yes - The drive is most likely defective.  Go to the Warranty page to determine if the drive is still under warranty.
  2. No - If you found a problem with the jumpers or connectors, return to Step 1 above to verify that you corrected the problem

How to check
You can view the jumper information online.  Click here to go to the hard disk drive table, then select your drive by product name or model. Click on the jumper settings and configuration when you are on the home page for the hard disk drive.
