Chairman

Hiroaki Nakanishi is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. He was chief executive officer of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies from 2005 until April 2009.

In prior positions during his extensive career with Hitachi, Mr. Nakanishi was executive vice president and executive officer and general manager of Global Business for Hitachi, Ltd. He also served in increasingly responsible senior management positions at both Hitachi, Ltd. headquarters and in the Information and Telecommunications Systems Group. Mr. Nakanishi joined the company in April 1970 as an engineer in the Computer Control Design Department at Omika Works.

Mr. Nakanishi holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tokyo University and an M.S. degree in computer engineering from Stanford University.
