Hitachi GST has initiated a comprehensive program of management and staff assessments, and internal and external audits to ensure OHS program execution and compliance. On a periodic basis, location managers conduct self assessments of the operations within their areas of responsibility. Location staff also conduct periodic reviews of program implementation and execution, and generate site evaluations. Corporate Headquarters OHS staff conduct periodic peer reviews within the company that are focused on the continual improvement of our OHS processes and execution.

Combined ISO (International Standards Organization)14001, and OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001 assessments are conducted for the majority of Hitachi GST locations on an annual basis. The audits are performed by consultants from an independent certification body. This provides an additional level of monitoring and evaluation of our environmental, health, and safety management systems and performance.

Results of all the reviews and evaluations are regularly monitored and reported within a specific location and communicated to corporate management teams.
