Hitachi GST Appoints Steve Pereira as Vice President Of EMEA

Havant, UK – September 14, 2009 – Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) today announced that it has named Steve Pereira to the role of Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Pereira returns to a European role, after spending the last two years based in the U.S. as Vice President of Business Management, where he focused on supporting Hitachi GST’s return to profitability in 2008.
In this new role, Pereira will lead all sales, marketing and business operations in the region. He will focus on growing channel presence for the company’s line of Hitachi and G-Technology-branded external storage solutions, as well as its broad portfolio of enterprise, desktop, mobile and consumer electronics hard drives.
“Hitachi GST is in one of the most exciting stages the company has been in for years and even though we are still in the midst of a challenging global economy, we continue to make headway in the market,” Pereira said. “I look forward to working with the Hitachi teams across EMEA to grow our channel business, launch our branded external storage products and address new market opportunities.”
Pereira has worked in the global IT storage industry for more than 30 years in business management, finance and sales and marketing, and has held executive roles throughout the U.S., EMEA & Asia Pacific. Pereira is a member of the Institute of Directors in the United Kingdom.
Pereira is based in the Hitachi GST Havant office in the UK.
