Steven Craig Joins Hitachi Global Storage Technologies to Lead Worldwide Quality Team

Customer Service Veteran to Manage Quality Assurance for Hitachi’s Hard
Drive Unit
SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 21, 2008 – Hitachi Global Storage Technologies
(Hitachi GST) today announced the appointment of Steven Craig to the position
of vice president, quality. In this position, Craig will manage quality assurance
across the entire component technology and product portfolio.
Steven brings strong leadership, strategic vision, technical depth and worldwide
customer support expertise to the Hitachi executive team. His career is steeped
in customer service and support leadership, both inside and outside the hard
disk drive industry.

Craig comes to Hitachi GST from Dot Hill Corporation, where he served as vice
president of service and support. At Dot Hill, Craig provided cross-functional
leadership and direction to service and support and was responsible for driving
quality and customer engineering.
Prior to his tenure with Dot Hill, Craig spent 11 years at Maxtor Corporation,
where he advanced from account manager to senior director, global accounts
and, ultimately, to vice president, worldwide customer engineering. Prior to
joining Maxtor, Steven worked in various engineering positions at Conner Peripherals
in the UK and in Houston.
Craig will be based at Hitachi GST in San Jose, CA.
