Hitachi Strengthens Distribution Network in Russia
Thur 11 Sept, 2008
Trinity Electronics to Distribute Full Portfolio of Hitachi Hard Drives; Increased
Access to Storage Allows Russian Consumers to Fully Participate in the Tera
Era
MOSCOW, Russia – September 11, 2008 – Hitachi Global
Storage Technologies ( Hitachi) today announced that it has signed an agreement
with Trinity Electronics to distribute its full range of hard drives to customers
in Russia. Trinity Electronics joins existing Hitachi distributors ASBIS and
ELKO, in broadening the availability of Hitachi products across Russia. The
new distribution agreement will allow Hitachi to continue its regional market
growth and extend business opportunities for a growing network of channel partners.
The amount of digital information created, captured and duplicated around
the world continues to grow at an uninterrupted pace. Russia is no exception,
as consumers have driven explosive terabyte growth in recent years. Expanding
the reach of Hitachi hard drives through our distribution partners is expected
to accelerate this trend and allow Russian consumers to fully participate in
the Tera Era. A Hitachi white paper and more details about the Tera Era can
be found at www.hitachigst.com/TeraEra.
Hitachi identified Russia as a major growth opportunity in 2005 and since
then has invested heavily in branding, promotional and customer support activities.
Hitachi’s focus and efforts in the region have generated significant
growth in recent years.
“The addition of Trinity Electronics as a distributor in Russia helps
us achieve several key goals -- expand our global presence, capture emerging
market growth and continue to build a channel network that allows Hitachi and
its partners to be successful,” said Nick Kyriacou, EMEA director for
Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. “We look forward to working with
Trinity Electronics in Russia and the CIS member states.”
Trinity Electronics is a leading distributor of computer hardware and software
serving Russia and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) markets. Since
2002, the company has specialized in the distribution of storage products and
devices including optical storage devices and drives, hard drives and servers.
Trinity Electronics will distribute Hitachi’s broad product line of hard
drives used in notebook and desktop PCs, network servers and consumer electronics
devices.
“We’re confident that Hitachi’s industry-leading hard drive
products and our local expertise will help both companies establish a stronger
and satisfied customer base, said Julie Kaznacheeva, director of distribution
for Trinity Electronics. “We’re pleased to establish this mutually
beneficial relationship to help meet our customer’s needs and the strong
demand for Hitachi’s hard disk drives in the region.”
The appointment of Trinity Electronics reinforces Hitachi’s commitment
to emerging markets and its regional customers. Hitachi recently announced
the appointment of ABC Data to serve as the company’s distributor in
the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
