Zero Accident Award 2008 Highlights Hitachi GST Thailand's Commitment to Workspace Safety

BANGKOK, Thailand, September 26, 2008 – Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Thailand) Ltd. has been recognized at the national level again for its outstanding safety performance and ability to manage a safe and secure workplace. Established by the National Institute for the Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment, the “Zero Accident Award 2008” (Gold Level) demonstrates Hitachi GST Thailand’s achievement in operating for more than 30 million work hours without a significant employee injury during the period from November 25, 2005 to November 25, 2006.
“We are pleased to receive this award and be recognized for our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace,” said Pitak Pobhiransopon, occupation health and safety manager, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Thailand) Ltd. “We will continue to promote safety in the workplace and accident prevention, which are of critical importance to our manufacturing operations in Thailand.”

This is the second time Hitachi GST Thailand has received the national recognition. The company first earned the award in 2004, with 15.34 million work hours recorded without a lost time accident.
