Hitachi Appoints New Hard Drive Distributor in Korea

Rae-An Tech to Distribute Full Portfolio of Hitachi Hard Drives

SEOUL, South Korea, September 30, 2008 – Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) today announced that it has appointed Rae-An Tech to serve as an authorized distributor of Hitachi hard drives in Korea. The Rae-An Tech team, based in Seoul, has more than 20 years of combined experience in data storage and hard drive distribution.

“The PC industry in Korea has demonstrated significant growth in recent years, so we are pleased to expand our distribution capability and reach new customers,” said James Ho, managing director, Hitachi GST Asia Pacific. “Rae-An Tech has a significant presence in Korea and we expect the company to help us address growing demand for Hitachi hard drives among resellers, systems integrators and end-user customers.”

Rae-An Tech will broaden Hitachi channel coverage in Korea to include Seoul and 10 other major cities across the peninsula. The distribution agreement will also expand the reach of Hitachi Travelstar and Deskstar product lines into Korea’s domestic retail market.
